Roof Upgrade at Manufacturing Facility
Delivered directly above a live production environment, the works required careful planning and coordination to ensure zero disruption to operations across high, medium, and low care areas, while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance.
The project involved the full strip and removal of the existing roofing systems and the installation of a high-performance SIKA Warm Roof System, backed by a 20-year guarantee. Works included the careful coordination of activities to minimise disruption to production within a live manufacturing environment, along with the raising of perimeter parapet walls, installation of new tapered valleys and gutters, and provision of designated rooftop walkways for long-term access and safety. To support the new roof design, the project also required the temporary removal, diversion, and reinstatement of critical M&E plant and services, as well as alterations to existing sprinkler pipework. Additional upgrades included the reinstatement of rooflights, vents, and smoke vents, the integration of new insulation and membrane systems, and the installation of a modern lightning protection system.
Delivered with stringent safety measures, including full edge protection and temporary crash decks, the works have successfully modernised and futureproofed the facility.
