Lakeland Dairies Casein Plant
McCabe Group successfully delivered the construction of a new Casein Facility at Lakeland Dairies, overcoming the challenges of working within a live food manufacturing environment. The project required the full demolition of the existing laboratory, careful decommissioning of underground services, and a significant reduction of ground levels to prepare for construction.
Key elements included the piling, shuttering, and reinforcement works for a new silo plinth, along with the installation of a reinforced concrete base. McCabe Group also carried out the installation of precast mechanical trenches, an ACO drainage channel, and a new electrical trench across the main yard. All works were completed in strict accordance with Covid-19 guidelines, with robust waste management procedures and detailed service surveys implemented to ensure safety and efficiency throughout. This project highlights McCabe Group’s ability to deliver complex civil engineering and construction solutions to the highest standard while maintaining seamless operations in sensitive, live environments.
